The SEO forums and blogosphere have been inundated with questions regarding a possible update to Google’s Panda or Penguin algorithms that is seeing many companies doing the “Google Dance”. The update which has been denied by Google seems to have had a rather large impact on the UK and many prospects have seen dramatic drops. Some SEO companies have seen their entire client lists suffer from this phantom update. However it is not isolated to the UK with big changes to SERPS occurring in Australia and India as well.
Friday saw rankings changing by the hour with some really spam heavy websites flying up the rankings and as the dust settles it’s still unclear as to what was going on. Confusing to say the least this left many in the SEO community pondering the possibility of a Panda/Penguin scale update looming. This speculation has yet to been proven and with Google denying any changes it could be a while before we get to the bottom of this.
